MASTER CLEANSE 

The Master Cleanse, developed by naturopath Stanley Burroughs in 1942, is a simple yet powerful blend of organic maple syrup, organic cayenne pepper, and organic lemons. As part of our 14 Day Reset, we incorporate the Master Cleanse to support you through the 3-day fasting phase, helping to nourish and sustain your body while allowing it to detox and reset.

When you join our 14 Day Reset, we provide South African participants with a Reset Pack, including organic maple syrup and organic cayenne pepper to ensure you have everything you need. For international participants, our 14 Day Reset International offers the same guidance and support, while helping you source the necessary ingredients locally.

BENEFITS OF MASTER CLEANSE INGREDIENTS

Maple syrup powder, lemon, and cayenne pepper provides sustenance without cellular stress, so that each cell of the body can efficiently rid itself of metabolic waste, toxic foreign elements and accumulated environmental toxins. 

Organic Lemon: lemon water as a detox revolves around its ability to enhance your body’s enzyme function and stimulate the liver. Lemon water helps to alkalinise your body and break up fat storage. Our body stores toxins in fat, as a protective mechanism. While you fast your body utilises fat, which releases toxins. Lemon water helps detox pathways to flush these toxins out. 

Organic Maple Syrup: Native Americans recognised the sap of Maple as a source of energy and nutrition. Maple syrup is considered a whole food as it is unprocessed, rather than a refined sugar. It provides glucose in its wholefood state, which supports the brain and cells, without burdening the digestive system. This allows the body to reset and repair (through autophagy) without the body going into cellular stress. 

Organic Cayenne Pepper: The phytochemical capsaicin found in cayenne pepper can help improve blood flow and help lower blood pressure. Capsaicin has the powerful ability to stimulate the release of vasodilators, which work to expand your blood vessels. This helps the transportation of nutrients as well as allowing toxins to be removed effectively. It stimulates the production of heat in the body, this can also lead to enhanced metabolic activity. 

The purpose of the Master Cleanse is to mobilise and eliminate toxins stored primarily in fatty tissue, in the liver, kidneys, skin, lungs, intestines, hormonal system and reproductive organs. Unwelcome metabolic waste and foreign substances are expelled from the body through our major detox pathways: The urinary tract, bowels, breath, skin and perspiration. This process is called detoxification.

The Master Cleanse provides sustenance as the sole source of nutrition intended to take the place of regular meals as a short term liquid fast. Liquefied nutrients are more easily digested and absorbed by the intestines.  By not eating anything during the cleanse – the gastro intestinal tract is able to rest and all the energy created by the nutrients in the Organic raw Maple syrup, goes into energizing each and every cell. This in turn gives them the energy to continue working to detox and cleanse, whilst the mitochondria produce all the energy you need.

WHY CLEANSE

No one is exempt from the industrial pollutants in the air we breathe, the water we drink, the heavy metals from petrol fumes, batteries, chem trails, chemical residues in processed foods, chemical toxins from tobacco, food preservatives, prescription drugs, make up and beauty products, plastics and cookware. All of which have embedded themselves in our tissues and organs. Research has found more than 700 known and recognised toxins present in the average human body – within all organ systems – the blood, skin, brain tissue, fat tissue, digestive tract. The accumulation of these foreign substances causes metabolic stress by affecting the parathyroid, thyroid, pancreas and adrenal glands, as well as resulting in many more day to day diseases. Even cancer can be the result of a highly toxic and acidic body.

Cleansing should become a normal part of everyone’s life. We recommend doing a Reset at least once a year and  incorporating intermittent fasting into your life in a way that works for you.

Here is a breakdown of what happens in the body and the benefits you can expect over a 9 day fast.

HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT WHEN YOU FAST:

Day 1-3 = Over the first 3 days your metabolism starts firing and your liver starts metabolising as it should! It begins to burn sugar and glycogen stores. You spend roughly the first 2 days just burning sugar. On day 2/3 your body starts dipping into fat storage and you start burning fat out of your liver. All food consumed about 36 hours before you started the cleanse – passes through your intestines and is excreted by the end of the 2nd day. This may leave you feeling hungry – as your intestines are still hard at work, and naturally calling out for more food as it empties the unwanted waste. It is normal to experience headaches whilst fasting but if you do our 14 Day Reset the pre-cleanse helps prepare your body. This is usually due to a caffeine withdrawal or simply the effects of the toxins being released. It is best NOT to take a headache tablet or pain killer – as you are simply adding to the TOXIC LOAD you are trying to get rid of. This is why the pre-cleanse is so valuable. 

Day 4-6 = This is where pure fat burning starts. As this happens, all toxins stored in fat are released. It is essential to make sure that your bowels are working at least 2 x a day, so that you flush toxins out as quickly as possible to prevent reabsorption into the body. This is usually a good time to do your first Salt Water Flush. If you carry excess fatty tissue you could start to losing weight over and above the +- 2kgs of waste out of your bowels. If you aren’t losing weight it could be a sign that your lymphatic system is blocked. This is where the REBOUNDER becomes very important, as jumping on it for a minimum of 3 minutes 4 – 5 x a day, will stimulate a pumping action of the lymph ducts, and encourage cleansing.

If you can do another 3 days then this is what you can expect…

Day 7-9 = You can begin to detox on a very deep cellular level as your body begins to run clean and excretes more and more toxins whilst circulation and O2 increase. You burn stubborn fat reserves that hold toxins deep within the bodily tissues. You should start to sleep deeply, wake refreshed and energised, feel lighter, more clear headed and have an abundance of energy. This is where many people start to feel like they don’t want the cleanse to end. 

Whether you do 3 or 9 days you will feel the benefits. Benefits include, resetting dopamine, breaking habits, increased energy, better sleep and clearer skin.
